Calculating Core Score
AlphaMeasure uses the total answers collected for a core competency to determine the total points available. Assuming there are 5 Likert Scale questions to each core competency, if your survey collects responses from 100 participants
the total answers collected for the core competency would be 500. Since we know the most points awarded per question is 4 (Strongly Agree), we would calculate the
total points available for the core competency to be 2000.
In this example, AlphaMeasure would now compute how many points your organization earned out of the available 2000. The percentage returned determines your Core Score rating.
Important Notes Regarding Core Score
The total points available per core competency will increase as your survey collects more responses.
Small sample sizes can be significantly swayed by one or two employees. Therefore, larger sample sizes resulting in higher total points available is often a better indication of true employee opinion.
AlphaMeasure assigns a grade to each Core Score for quick reference, but ultimately it is up to you to decide what scores are acceptable within your organization.
